Wrinkle Reduction

What causes wrinkles?

Wrinkles are usually associated with aging, which brings about multiple biological changes in the dermis and epidermis. Increased collagen fragmentation, decline in the number of dermal fibroblasts that produce collagen, and reduced dermal circulation lessen the skin’s elasticity and cause the formation of wrinkles. A potent treatment will promote the production of collagen and elastic fibers and improve blood flow, and thus restore elasticity and revitalize the skin.

Wrinkles can be caused by a number of different factors which will determine the way we recommend treating them.

  1. Wrinkles can be caused by natural aging and decreased collagen leading to thinner, looser skin more prone to fold.
  2. Wrinkles can also be caused by the contraction of muscle, commonly in the forehead and around the eyes.
  3. Loss of volume in a particular area can also lead to wrinkles.

Venus Legacy

Venus Legacy is the treatment of choice for those that have wrinkles due to the lack of collagen and loose skin.

Botox

Botox is the treatment of choice for wrinkles caused by muscle contraction. Botox will inhibit the use of the muscle in the area and effectively eliminate wrinkles cause by that muscle. This is commonly used on the forehead and around the eyes (crows feet).

Fillers or Fat Transfer

Aging gracefully is the goal of most people. There are some good options available these days, but fat transfer to the face and the hands is a procedure that is sweeping the nation and offering incredible results to make people look younger.

Fat Transfer to the Face

For those that are looking to defy the signs of aging, this is a life changing procedure. As one ages, the effects of gravity take effect. Skin tends to sag and become more loose as the collagen reduces with age. There tends to be a loss of volume throughout the face as we age. There are temporary options to solve this problems, that include fillers like Juvaderm, Sculptra, Restylane, Radiesse or Perlane. These fillers are good for younger individuals because very little is needed to accomplish the goal. Unfortunately, as you get older, you will require larger amounts and the cost can get overwhelming since they are temporary.

With the fat transfer to the face, we can replace lost volume with fat and rejuvenate your face to the volume you once had when you were younger. The results are amazing and will make you look years younger in a short period of time. Loss of fat in the face is a sure tell that you are aging. The bags under the eyes, the loss of volume along the cheek bone and along the jaw bone are the most common places for loss of volume. With fat transfer, we are able to add volume to just about any area of your face to restore the look that you are trying to accomplish.

With the increased volume in the face, the wrinkles will literally disappear almost immediately. When you loose volume, the wrinkles are much more prominent and show your age. The expansion of the the volume in a given area will stretch the skin and alleviate the wrinkles.

Procedure:

The face will be marked to determine the specific area you wish to treat. This will be our outline and plan of action for injecting the fat into the face. Next, the area for harvesting the fat will be identified and marked. After the area has been cleaned, tiny puncture holes will be made in the harvest area and numbing fluid will be injected. Once proper numbing is accomplished a special cannula will be used to harvest the fat to be transferred. The fat will then be processed and prepared for transfer. Prior to transferring fat, the face will be properly numbed to assure a comfortable process. Finally, the prepared fat will then be injected into the chosen area.

Fat Transfer to the Hands

A sure sign of aging is the loss of fat in the back of the hands. As you age, the skin gets thinner, and the blood vessels and tendons are much more prominent on the back of ones hands. The addition of fat to the back of the hands will give you a softer, younger look that will make you look and feel younger. The goal is not to give you “fat” hands, but rather reduce the signs of aging by reducing the wrinkles and decreasing the visibility of the blood vessels and tendons.
